The LORD's lyrics, and the Blessing Giver's book: How they're refreshing to the soul

And so the school year begins!! How are you guys? I have been so busy! I did school in the summer, and when I wasn't doing school I was babysitting, skating, or doing other things with my friends. I have met so many new people this summer. My Church got a new Pastor who has turned out to be an amazing man with an amazing family, and an amazing gift of preaching the LORD's gospel. Our Church has also done some growing! Lots of babies have been born, and people have found us and joined our congregation. I have made two new friends who moved here recently, and I have been very blessed by them.
My sister is starting her second year of college, and I can tell she is adjusting much better this year, because last year she would text us every night asking us to call her, and within a couple days this year, she has told us that she couldn't talk that night, because she had plans. Wow. Sorry for the run-on sentence!
I have to admit, when it comes to the new school year, I usually don't have the best attitude. Because I do school through the summer, I often feel like I didn't have a break, and didn't have enough time to recuperate and get ready for the next year. But I have found that when I don't do anything, and just sit around I end up just being bored. So I guess it's good for me, even though I don't want to admit it.
It's the same when it comes to my heart and soul. This last year I have broken away from listening to good, uplifting and Christ centered music, and I didn't read my Bible nearly as much as I should have. Honestly, not listening to Christian music all the time was okay, but it certainly didn't make me feel refreshed and reassured, and I didn't feel full. I felt more empty. I have recently started waking up to Christian radio, and listening to Christian music during math, and I like it much better. Reading my Bible is another thing. I admit, I am really bad at this piece in particular. I usually only read my Bible (on my own, not including the Bible study I do for school) maybe a couple times a month. I'm rather ashamed to admit this. And when I don't do my Bible study, I (again) don't feel rejuvenated. The Bible is full of so many things to help reassure us in our faith, and help us through our days. I definitely feel like when I do my Bible study, I get more accomplished in my day. Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."
So take my advice. Don't be like me. Read your Bible, listen to Christian music. I guarantee it will be life changing.

Yikes!

Hey Everybody!
Yikes it's been a long time! I just briefly wanted to say that I know I haven't written in FOREVER but now that I am on my summer school schedule, I am hoping to write some more posts again soon. :) And unlike last summer, where I basically did nothing, I am hoping to get a lot of things accomplished. (Ha) We all know how that goes for procrastinators!
Here is the first thing I've done this summer. I bought a mens T shirt at the Goodwill and made it a hi-lo beaded fringe shirt.

Hopefully I will write more later!

The Great Commission

Hey everyone!
I know I haven't posted in forever- school and such has gotten in the way. Anyway, I just wanted to share a few little things with you.
Two weeks ago I had the privilege of going on a missions trip to Lakeside Christian Camp in Massachusetts. It was so much fun, and we got so much accomplished!! One of the days was set aside for evangelism. Not everyone went, but the kids who professed faith were expected to. So I will admit, I was pretty nervous, but I didn't really have a choice whether I went or not. :) It turned out we were street evangelizing. We were helping out a local church that went out street evangelizing every Thursday. The area was kind of redneck and rough, but very friendly. (Made me feel at home) I really thought that no one would take our pamphlets, or willingly stand there and listen to us, but I pleasantly surprised that many people not only took the pamphlets, but said they would check out the church!
It now amazes me how much I doubted God's power. Did I really think that He couldn't make those people interested in the gospel? What an untrusting person I am. How can I trust all my friends and family, when I can't even trust God, the only one that can really guarantee anything?
The other thing that amazed me is my unwillingness to speak up. I was in a group with four other people. I was the only person who didn't say anything. Actually, I said two things. "Have a nice day!" and "Bye!" That's it. I am not sure if unwillingness is the right word. I really wanted to speak, but I couldn't. I couldn't make myself open my mouth to talk to these strangers. Halfway through the day I realized that I couldn't make myself talk. Only God could do that. I prayed and asked God to take control of my hands and my mouth. I still didn't say anything. It taught me an important lesson though. One run in with a stranger might be their only chance to hear the gospel, and I don't want to blow that. I don't want to be the one that cowers in the corner because she's too afraid to talk to strangers. I want to be a part of the Great Commission.
Please pray for me as I struggle with this realization. I know it's not right to keep my mouth shut about God's word. I want to do His will, and spread his word without shame.
Thank you all!

Prayer Request

Hey everyone! How's life?
I have a prayer request. There is a little girl I know who was born with down syndrome. She is so sweet and adorable! She is in the hospital because she was having breathing problems. It turns out that her aortic arch is pressing down on her lung, making it difficult to breathe. If you could pray for a swift recovery I would very much appreciate it. I'm not sure what the plans are medically yet.
This little girl has a long rocky road ahead of her, they are already talking about some surgery ahead. Please pray for her and her family. Thank you so much!

It never got above -1 degrees today. 'Nuff said. :o When people find out I'm homeschooled, I get asked, "Do you do school in your pajamas?" It's days like these when I do. I love my fleecey pj pants!
